The Senate meeting lasted for almost three hours and finally voted not to approve Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siripan Noksuansawasdee, a lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Chatri Archananan, former Director-General of the Consular Affairs Department and former Thai Ambassador to The Hague, Netherlands, to be judges of the Constitutional Court because the approval votes did not exceed half of the number of senators on duty. It was reported that when entering the secret meeting, the meeting was tense, especially during the debate on the qualifications and suitability of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siripan Noksuansawasdee, with many senators standing up to debate, both in support and opposition.
